i'm looking forward to getting my nixwilliams back from debaucherous sydney. just 3 more days to go...

also, kristin hersh (formerly of throwing muses, and currently of kirstin hersh)'s new album, learn to sing like a star, is the best new album i've heard in a long, long while. hauntingly beautiful. i first heard it when i played it at work a few weeks ago (i work in a music store). about 3 tracks in, i stopped moving - i couldn't move - i was (there is no other word for it) overcome by the music. chills all over my body, eyes watering, chest swelling - i don't know when i was last so affected by a piece of music. then my colleague comes up to me and says "this is amazing! i've got chills all over!"

it was a beautiful moment. i thought i'd share. i'm off to water the plants now, while kristin sings to me.
